HOTEL REVENUE + ROI

Your Hotel Has More Than Rooms to Sell. Make It Work Harder.

More bookable room nights + charging or host revenue + lower energy expenses = potential owner operating contribution. Here is the math, with your numbers in it.

THE OWNER’S EQUATION

Three ways a parking space earns its keep.

Add them up and you have a potential owner operating contribution. Potential, not promised: every line depends on your property, your market, your contract and your utility.

More bookable room nights

EV drivers filter for charging when they choose where to stay. Show up in that filter and you are in the running for stays you were not getting.

Charging or host revenue

Own the stations and keep the session margin, or host a third party’s stations for a revenue share. Different contracts, different math.

Lower energy expenses

Solar can offset part of the power bill that charging adds to. Your modeled savings are entered separately — never assumed.

Owner operating contribution

THE DEMAND CURVE

The drivers are already on the road. The charging is catching up.

Public charging has grown every year for a decade, and EV owners plan trips around it. A hotel with dependable overnight charging is part of that map.

WHAT THE EVIDENCE SUPPORTS

Charging is an amenity guests search for.

The strongest public signal comes from Hilton, which told Skift in July 2025 that EV charging is its highest-converting amenity on Hilton.com. Your results depend on your market, listing and competition — which is why the estimator asks for your own capture rate.

Explore your property

Searched, then booked

Travelers filter for charging before they compare rates. Being in the filter is the first step to the booking.

Overnight is the natural fit

Level 2 adds about 25 miles of range per hour. An overnight stay returns a full battery without fast-charger hardware or demand charges.

Two ways to earn on the plug

Keep the margin on sessions you own, or collect a revenue share on stations an operator runs. The estimator handles both.

Energy is the third lever

Charging adds load; solar can offset load. Enter your own modeled savings and see the combined picture.

CHARGER OPTIONS + FINANCING

Charge Faster. Stay Longer. Save Smarter.

We place, lease and arrange financing for qualifying commercial EV charging installations. For hotels along the interstate, DC fast charging is our premium first choice for drivers who need a quick, dependable recharge. Level 2 serves the overnight guest, and our featured EV + Solar Power Bundle pairs charging revenue potential with a pathway to lower electricity costs.

DC FAST CHARGING50–350 kW

Fast Charging. Fast Stops. More Travelers.

The premium option for guests on the road. Give drivers a reason to stop at your property to recharge quickly — whether they stay the night, have a meal or take a travel break.

100–200+ milesof estimated range in about 30 minutes on compatible vehicles¹
  • Best fit for interstate exits, highway corridors and public-access travel hubs
  • Supports paid public charging and possible additional guest visits
  • Highest electrical-capacity, construction and demand-charge scrutiny

LEVEL 2 CHARGING7–19 kW

Plug In Tonight. Wake Up Charged.

For guests who park for hours, Level 2 makes charging easy while they sleep. A valued hotel amenity with lower electrical demand and typically lower installation cost than DC fast charging.

10–25 milesof estimated range added per hour of charging¹
  • Best fit for overnight parking, hotel guests and longer stays
  • Multiple parking-space and guest-access configurations
  • Available to evaluate for purchase, lease or financed deployment

Charging Revenue. Energy Savings.

Our most complete property-upgrade strategy pairs fast charging or Level 2 stations with appropriately sized commercial solar. Explore charging income, long-term energy pricing and separately available incentive programs together.

BUY, LEASE OR BUNDLE

We help make the numbers work.

Dream Charge evaluates equipment ownership, energy contracts and third-party arrangements against your property’s site economics — not a one-size-fits-all promise.

01

Solar PPA + EV Financing

Our preferred bundled approach when a site qualifies: a third-party solar PPA for electricity, paired with EV charging equipment financing, leasing or an approved combined energy-services structure. A standard solar PPA does not automatically finance the chargers.

02

EV Charger Lease or Purchase

Install DC fast or Level 2 chargers through eligible lease, purchase or project-financing options. Compare equipment payments against charging demand, utility tariffs, service, network fees and ongoing maintenance.

Limited Host Placement

Fully funded third-party placement may be considered at select high-traffic properties with strong corridor visibility, electrical access and verified utilization. Standalone free placement is limited and never guaranteed.

OUR FIRST RECOMMENDATION

See whether your hotel qualifies for fast charging + solar.

One evaluation looks at the charging opportunity, utility capacity, PPA feasibility, leasing options and currently open state or utility incentives. Eligible financing may reduce upfront capital needs; no-cost outcomes require written approval.

Check My Hotel’s Options

¹ Charger power and charging speed vary by vehicle, state of charge, weather and network conditions. Sources: U.S. DOE charging-speed estimates and U.S. DOT charger types. ² Financing and incentives require project-specific underwriting, utility approval and legal eligibility. A solar PPA covers purchased solar electricity; EV charging equipment financing may be separate. The federal Section 30C credit ended for property placed in service after June 30, 2026. State and utility programs may remain available, but a solar + EV bundle does not automatically increase incentive eligibility or allow double-dipping. Photos are illustrative, not Dream Charge installations.

OWNED VS. HOSTED

Know which contract you are signing.

Total charging volume is not hotel revenue. What reaches your P&L depends on who owns the stations, who pays for power and what the agreement says. We walk through both before recommending either.

INTERSTATE TRAVELERS

The hotel on the way is the hotel with the plug.

Road-trippers plan their stops around charging, and a public fast charger is still a gamble: in J.D. Power’s 2025 study, 14% of EV owners said they visited a charger without successfully charging. A dependable overnight charge at a hotel is the alternative — the car fills while the guest sleeps, and the morning starts with a full battery.

  • Show up in the EV-charging filter on booking sites
  • Overnight Level 2: about 25 miles of range per hour, no waiting in line
  • A reason to choose you over the exit with only a gas station

Stop to ReCharge is one way hotels compete for interstate stays; it is an example, not a program or a promise of traffic.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Let’s Make This Simple.

Straight answers, practical next steps and no assumptions about funding or savings.

Ask about my property
Will chargers increase my occupancy?

Nobody can promise a percentage, and we do not. What is documented is that travelers search for charging and that Hilton reports it as its highest-converting amenity. The estimator lets you test your own assumption about how many EV-driving guests you could win.

Is all the charging revenue mine?

Only under a hotel-owned or leased model, and only after energy, fees, operating costs and financing. Under a hosted model the operator keeps the volume and pays you a share. The estimator shows gross volume and your contribution as separate lines.

What do I need before I can estimate payback?

Your owner capital — the amount you would actually pay — and any funding that is confirmed in writing. Without capital entered, the estimator deliberately shows no payback figure.

Do solar savings count in the estimate?

Only if you enter them. Solar economics depend on your roof, utility tariff and financing structure, so the estimator never assumes a savings number.

How do incentives fit in?

Programs vary by state, utility and timing, and funding is never guaranteed. Enter confirmed awards in the capital section; use the Incentives page to see what may be worth applying for.
